BRENDAN King saluted a much improved performance as Chickerell United comfortably saw off Upwey & Broadwey for the second time in a week.
Despite beating the Dorset Senior League outfit 4-1 last Saturday, King was unhappy with the manner of his side’s victory. But the Chickens’ boss was a lot happier with his player’s efforts in the more recent 3-1 win.
Adam Linaker added to Adam Hall’s opener to give the hosts a 2-0 half-time lead before helping himself to a second goal just after the break. Upwey managed a late consolation via the penalty spot.
King claimed his men are now fully prepared for the visit of Parley Sports in their opening Dorset Premier League fixture this Saturday.
He said: “The friendly was very worthwhile – a lot better than on Saturday. We kept the ball a lot better, the passing was a lot better and we got a lot out of it.
“There are a couple of lads that have taken their chance and welll tell the squad what the team will be at training tonight.”
