MANAGER Trevor Senior is hoping to see Bridport continue their recent up-turn in form with success against Oldland Abbotonians at St Mary’s Field tomorrow (3pm).

Last Saturday’s stunning 3-0 Tool-station Western League Division One win over second-placed Odd Down was followed up with a 2-1 success at struggling Minehead on Wednesday.

That took Bridport’s form to four wins in six, having started the season with just one maximum-point haul in eight.

“We’ve had two wins on the bounce and now have three home games on trot,” said Senior. “It’s a tough one on Saturday, but we’ve played two tough teams the last two Saturdays, Odd Down and Wells City, and given a good account of ourselves.

“We’ve been playing well and just not getting results, but are now starting to put some together. I was confident that it would come, but until it does you can only hope.”

Tomorrow’s visitors go into the game in even better form, with their last eight games producing six victories and two draws, but Senior has seen great improvements in his own team.

“We’ve taken our chances and been good defensively,” said the Bees’ boss. “Simon Evans has made a big difference, I must be honest. His talking and organisation has been brilliant.

“We’ve played three games and conceded two goals, both from the penalty spot, since he’s come in.

“Lee Cleal will feel like it’s all his fault, but it’s not a case of that. Simon Evans is just a fresh face coming in and giving us a lift.”

Wednesday’s winning goalscorer Ashley Clarke, who has picked up a one-match suspension for five yellow cards, will miss tomorrow’s game, meaning Chris Gale should come into the squad.
