FORMER Weymouth chairman Malcolm Curtis has refused to comment on the legal action that the Terras are planning to take against him and Wessex Park Ltd.
Current chairman George Rolls revealed at a shareholders’ meeting on Wednesday night that the club would set up a fighting fund to raise £20,000 in order to win back the land around the Wessex Stadium, that was controversially sold to Curtis in 2008, as well as substantial damages.
Rolls hinted that a first court date could be held as early as mid-July but Curtis was unwilling to say anything to Echosport when contacted.
“I have absolutely no comment to make at all,” he said.
At the meeting on Wednesday, Rolls confirmed Weymouth Foot-ball Club would begin civil proceedings to claim £50,000 that is still allegedly owed by Wessex Park for the sale of the land.
He also added that the club would take civil action against Curtis and Wessex Park for “misfeasance while in control of Weymouth Football Club.”
