Dorchester hope to rec-ord back-to-back wins for the first time this season and then embark on an unbeaten run to keep their title dream alive.

Stalbridge are the visitors tomorrow (1pm) and although skipper Martyn Richards is targeting successive victories, he is fully aware of the dangers posed by a side that has already collected four victories this season.

Richards, whose team enter the Dorset Premier League fixture on the back of an eight-wicket thumping of basement boys Wimborne & Colehill, said: “Stalbridge struggled last year, which was surprising to see as they have a really good bowling attack.

“However, this year they have started really well and we know it’s going to be a really tough game, so we’ll need to be at our best.

“They have won more games than we have played this season so they will come to the Rec on a high. Having said that we had a great win last week. Wimborne have struggled but there are no easy games in this league, so we are on a bit of a high ourselves.

“We’re looking forward to going out and facing more of a test against Stalbridge, and hopefully get another 20 points on the board.

“We know that if we can win a run of games we will be hot on the heels of Parley. There’s a long way to go so we’ll just take it one game at a time.”

Last week’s hero Lee Haynes, who plundered 78 in his first appearance of the campaign, is expected to miss a month’s action due to unavailability.

Rob Waite and Andy Mead are also unavailable tomorrow but Pete Moxom and Xenon Ellis return to the county town line-up.

Richards added: “Although we’ve had to make a couple of changes I’m still happy with the team as it’s a strong side.”

Some of Dorchester’s players will also be in Twenty20 action this evening when a county town XI takes on a Dorchester Evening League representative side in the Doug Read Memorial game at the Rec (6.30pm).

Richards said: “With all the postponements we’ve had this season we need a bit of time in the middle, so tonight will be a good opportunity against what will be a strong side.”

Dorchester: Moxom, Gerety, Maslen, Belt, Tweddle, Richards, Herbert, Ellis, Q Miller, Morley, Dunham.

n Dorchester’s second team are boosted by the return of captain Ian Sibley for their trip to high-flying Bere Regis tomorrow (2pm).

Also coming back into the side is Colin Edney, while moving in the other direction are Steve Clifford and Jonathan Legg.

Vice-captain Stuart Voss said: “Jonathan is unavailable and Steve is back in Wolverhampton as he can only play on intermittent weekends.”

Previewing tomorrow’s Dorset League Division Two encounter, Voss added: “They are doing well and it will be a difficult game for us. We know a few of their players so it should be a decent game.

“Hopefully with more experienced players in the team we’ll be better equipped. We’ve definitely got a stronger batting line-up.”

Dorchester Seconds: Sibley, Voss, J Miller, Chutter, Roe, Pryce, I Legg, Peak, Budd, Power, Edney.

n The county town thirds host their Blandford counterparts, aiming to bounce back from their first defeat in two years (noon).
