Under-11 Division Three
Dorchester MAGPIES 5 WEYMOUTH WARRIORS 3
ATUL Ramesh scored all five goals as Dorchester Magpies returned to winning ways while Weymouth Warriors tasted defeat for the first time this season.
The Magpies started brightly, immediately going on the attack, and they were rewarded after just four minutes when Ramesh, continuing his fine form, opened the scoring with a well taken header.
The same player made it 2-0 just 60 seconds later but the Warriors fought back and pulled one back courtesy of John Seagrave.
Back came the hosts as Ramesh completed his hat-trick with a long-range effort from a tight angle.
The Warriors refused to lie down and Seagrave teed up Callum Walters to reduce the deficit once more.
And the visitors eventually drew level when Seagrave bagged his second of the match – this after Dorchester’s Josh Leyland had clipped the woodwork with a 20-yard drive.
The game was finely poised at 3-3 but again the Magpies started the brighter as the second half got underway, restoring their advantage thanks to another superb effort from Ramesh.
Both goalkeepers were forced to make several fine saves as the game ebbed and flowed but there was no stopping Ramesh who secured victory with his fifth.
