TUATARA Bar will be out to wrap up a hat-trick of victories when they take on second-bottom New Inn at Redlands tomorrow (10.30am).

At the beginning of the campaign T-Bar were touted as one of the favourites to lift the Weymouth Sunday League Premiership title but an inconsistent start now sees them sitting eight points off the pace in sixth place.

However, in recent weeks there have been signs that Chris Meadow’s side is beginning to realise its potential, particularly after back-to-back wins over the Duke of Albany and Bar 314.

But nothing will be taken for granted tomorrow against a New Inn side whose lowly position belies their performances of late.

Further evidence of that came last Sunday when they gave table-toppers the Rendezvous a scare by pulling two goals back after going 3-0 down, only to eventually lose 4-2.

T-Bar will be without ex-Weymouth winger John Lamb and there are also doubts surrounding the fitness of Meadows, who is suffering with a back problem.

Meadows, who runs the team alongside recently appointed co-manager Charlie Kenderdine, said: “Doing it all yourself is not easy and Charlie’s appointment has given me and the team fresh impetus. We are now unbeaten in our last three games and if we can go on and win the next two it should see us start moving up the table.”

In the Championship, table-toppers Quayside will go head-to-head with fellow promotion hopefuls the John Gregory at the Marsh.

The Southill outfit knocked the league leaders out of the Dorset Junior Cup earlier this season so Bobby Darch’s men will no doubt be out for revenge.

Adam Anstey and Chris Wyatt will both miss out for Quayside but Stuart Crane, Dave Paice, Matt Brown, Sanchez Baker, Darren Long and Tony Wyatt are all expected to return.

New signing Dan McDonald will also be included in the squad.
