Dorchester will be out to protect their perfect record at Coburg Road when third-placed Corsham come to town.

The county town outfit are yet to be defeated on home turf and could overtake their opponents with victory in tomorrow’s Southern Counties South clash (2.30pm).

However, they will have to produce a better display than the one that saw them fall to a 40-7 loss in the last meeting between the two sides.

And with Corsham entering the match on the back of successive defeats, head coach Mike Sprules is keen to add to their misery.

He said: “They were going really well at the start of the year and they turned us over quite convincingly at their place.

“However, they have lost their last two games and hopefully we can capitalise on that.

“It’s a game we would dearly like to win because there are four teams all within five points of each other.

“So if we don’t pick up points tomorrow we could slip down the table.

“However, we are still unbeaten at home this season and we pride ourselves on that record.”

Matt Read and Sam Prior are unavailable but there is a welcome return for Ian Dixon.

Rich Bament faces a late fitness test on a troublesome elbow injury.

Following last weekend’s Dorset & Wilts Plate final defeat, Weymouth have the chance to exact immediate revenge on Blandford when the two meet at Milldown Road tomorrow (2.30pm).

The latter prevailed 20-11 in a closely fought contest and although keen to come out on top this time around, in a Dorset & Wilts One South encounter, head coach Paul Harding has played down the significance of gaining redemption.

He said: “We have just got to treat it like any other game. We’re not going to hype it up like the final. We know we have the performance in us to do a job on the day.

“We’ve got quite a few unavailabilities in the back line so it’s quite a different side to last week.

“It’s a young and vibrant team though and, with Blandford being the clear favourites for the league, it’s a good chance for the guys coming in to show what they can do.”

Gareth Iles, Will Quick, Lewis Allan, Kevin Leatham and Luke Savage all come into the side.

Puddletown are at home for the second week running as they entertain mid-table South Wilts in Dorset & Wilts Two South (2.30pm).

The Salisbury-based outfit beat a weakened Villagers side 39-0 earlier in the campaign, but captain Paul Chidley is confident that recent form and home advantage will this time give his team the edge.

He said: “Last week we ran in four tries for the first time this season and that was against the league’s top scorers.

“Although we lost we had some really good spells of play and with the squad I’ve got available again this week I expect us to carry on where we left off.”

Tom Yeatman and Barry Dovell are expected to return.

Southern Counties South strugglers Bridport visit Frome (2.15pm) while in-form Swanage & Wareham travel to mid-table Reading Abbey (2.15pm) in South West One East.

A local derby takes place at Monmouth Avenue as Weymouth Seconds entertain Dorchester Thirds (2.30pm).
