Upwey will be out to end a run of four successive defeats when they travel to Kingston Lacy in the Dorset Senior League tomorrow (2pm).

But they will certainly have their work cut out at Pamphill Village Green where the fourth-placed hosts have so far remained unbeaten this season, winning seven and drawing two.

The Weymouth outfit has been leaking goals of late and currently sit just two points above the bottom three, which is a huge dip from this time last year when they were at the other end of the table competing for the title.

Upwey’s stand-in boss Simon Ansell said: “Kingston Lacy is a very tough place to go. The pitch up there is quite small and they play it very well so it is going to be another difficult game for us.

“However, we did beat them 4-2 earlier in the season and if we can put on a similar performance to the one we put on that day, there is no reason why we cannot come away with something.

“In the last few games the effort and commitment of the lads has been really good but things have just not gone our way. Hopefully, tomorrow all that will change.”

Upwey are currently struggling for a goalkeeper after Anthony Luque and Anthony McLucas both ruled themselves out. Clinton Coltart is being lined up to step in but so far Ansell has had no confirmation of his availability.

Skipper Phil Anderson (shoulder) is also struggling while Omar Djeebet has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a recurring knee problem.

Chris Sweetser-Hawkes could miss out as well due to work commitments but Damien McLucas and Ben Coltart should both return.
