RENDEZVOUS will be crowned Weymouth Sunday League Premiership champions for the first time tomorrow if they can overcome title-holders Rodwell at Budmouth (11am).

The Vous require just three points from their last three games to secure the silverware but they did lose against the Boot Hill outfit earlier in the campaign, which is their only league defeat to date this season.

Rodwell thumped the leaders 4-1 back on October 31 but since then the nightclubbers have claimed 19 points from a possible 21, scoring a mammoth 36 goals in the process.

A draw will also be enough for Vous to crack open the champagne if second-placed Duke of Albany fail to beat in-form Tuatara at Redlands.

The Duke need to win their remaining two games to stand any chance of overhauling the table-toppers and they are likely to have their work cut out against T-Bar, who are unbeaten in their last nine league games.

Meanwhile, in the Championship it is all about the race for second spot after Quayside wrapped up the title last week with a 3-0 win over Medics Away.

With Alexandra not in action, SAS will look to close the gap at Budmouth where they will face Golden Lion, who appear to have been rejuvenated by the recent takeover from Galaxy Windows.

The Lion beat Broadmayne 5-0 last week thanks to a hat-trick from Teejay Smith-McFarlane, who was the subject of a transfer approach from SAS just days before the Galaxy deal was finalised.

Lion boss Andy Barber said: “I am sure Teejay will want to show SAS boss Danny Sanders just what he missed out on.”

Dave Price will also be included in the Lion’s squad but Dave Clifford misses out through family commitments.

Old Ship are also in the running for a top-two finish but they will face the Quay at the Marsh, who will no doubt be in buoyant mood following last Sunday’s celebrations.

Bobby Darch’s men will welcome back Rob Maxted, Stuart Crane and Marc Dalley but Anthony Crane, Matt Brown and Dan Magee are all struggling with injuries.
