WEYMOUTH II 0
SALISBURY II 50
WEYMOUTH suffered final heartache for the second year running as they succumbed to a strong Salisbury outfit in the Dorset & Wilts Second XV Shield showpiece.
The Seasiders’ second string gave it their all but came unstuck against a side from a higher division.
The Wiltshire side, set to compete alongside Weymouth’s first team next season, entered the clash at North Dorset RFC as strong favourites, and they failed to disappoint.
The 50-0 scoreline also marked the Seasiders’ first defeat of 2011 after their stellar run led them to promotion from Dorset & Wilts Three South.
Kevin Leatham was the pick of the Weymouth bunch for his outstanding work-rate.
