BRIDPORT Reserves will be hoping to maintain the feel-good factor when they visit high-flying Westland Sports this evening (6.30pm).

The Bees have taken 18 points from a possible 21 since their 1-0 defeat by Wincanton Town on March 19, and have far exceeded their points tally from last season.

Positive results in their final two Magna Dorset Premier League outings would be the ideal way to end an encouraging term – and keep interest levels high ahead of next season.

Bridport had been due to take on Sherborne Town Reserves on Monday but that match was cancelled and will now be played at an as yet unspecified date.

Previewing tonight’s encounter, joint-boss Steve Crabb said: “We were hoping to go to Westland and shuffle things around a bit because it would have been our last game.

“That might not happen now, but these last two matches are a really good opportunity to surprise two teams that are higher than us in the table.

“Westland Sports are going for third place in the league and have been on a very good run lately. It’s a tough ask to go there and get a result, but we will try our best.

“We are ninth in the league and unless Sherborne lose all their remaining fixtures, that’s as high as we can finish. But I’d be very happy with that.”
