BRENDON King has sensationally released Rob Wolleaston and Lewis Tasker in order to shake-up his squad, following a disappointing start to the season.

The Terras’ boss took the decision late yesterday evening and will use the freed up funds to bring in new faces.

King told Echosport: “Our recent performances have not been good enough and rather than wait another seven games, I want to make some changes now.

“I have a very good working relationship with the board and they are 100 per cent behind me and I am 100 per cent behind them, so last night I went to them and told them that I wanted to shake things up.

“I was over budget but now I have released Rob and Lewis it will allow me to bring in a few fresh faces.

“I am in the process of talking to two or three at the moment and hopefully we can do some business over the coming days.”

King went on to add: “Due to where Rob lives it has not always been easy for him to get down to training and Lewis has had similar problems due to his job.

“One of the big things for me is to have everyone together for training at least twice a week and that is one of the reasons why I have come to this decision.

“Rob and Lewis are both great lads and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for Weymouth FC and wish them all the best in their future careers.”
