WITH the festive break now over, WeySports Netball Club look back at their season so far.

Moby Dick’s A are sitting pretty in second position in Division Three with eight wins under their belt.

These included convincing triumphs against Toymaster and Sticklands.

Vice-captain Fran Gurracci has thoroughly enjoyed the campaign thus far, saying: “I couldn’t pick a highlight as I have enjoyed every match.

“I feel we have not only bonded within our teams but as a club too, which has aided our success.”

With only three games of the winter campaign remaining, the players are looking to secure promotion to Division Two.

Captain Ele Johnstone added: “I am so proud of every one of the girls.

“They have all contributed to our current league position and I hope that we can gain promotion.”

Sister team Moby Dick’s B, who were new to the league this year, have improved greatly over the winter period.

The team have gained valuable points from matches against junior outfit Mane Rd, Sticklands and their A side.

Skipper Katharine DeKretser said: “I feel we have learned and improved together in many aspects of our game and embraced the challenge of entering the league as a newly formed team.”

The winter season resumes on Thursday, January 12 when the A side take on Bennetts and the B team face Mane Rd.

n Netball South West is offering a new workshop specifically for use with Key Stage Two pupils, suitable for teachers, adults other than teachers, parents and coaches.

The event will be held at Bournemouth University on Saturday (11.30am-2pm).

All participants will receive a comprehensive resource pack with a six to eight week scheme of work, High 5 DVD and a set of skill cards.
