Upwey & Broadwey will be boosted by the return of three key players tomorrow when they visit Piddletrenthide United in the Dorset Senior League (2pm).

Sean Stewart, Darren Samways and Pete Bochonko are all set to return from suspension and there is also a chance Pete Jarvis could figure, depending on his commitments with Weymouth Reserves.

However, that has been offset by an increased ban for Phil Anderson who will miss the game along with Sam Nichols.

Upwey boss Steve Reynolds said: “Sean and Darren have been out for a while and there is no doubt that we will add a bit of versatility to the squad.

“It is also great to have Pete Bochonko back but unfortunately we will be without Phil and Sam, who are suspended.

“Phil has been given another four weeks and a £50 fine for his sending off at Kingston Lacy last year, which was an absolute farce.

“That takes the ban up to seven matches and the overall fine to £85 for a tackle that he should not have even been dismissed for.

“He has been treated terribly but in order to appeal it we would have to go to London and we just cannot afford to do it.

“It is a massive blow for Phil and he is even contemplating stopping playing on Satur-days because of it.”

Going on to comment further on this weekend’s game, Reynolds added: “We have got to go there and win, particularly after picking up just one point from the last three games.

“We have the leaders Wareham Rangers the week after so it is important we put in a performance and gain a bit of confidence.”

Third-placed Upwey sit eight points adrift of the summit and with Kingston Lacy and Witchampton United hot on their heels it is vital they start the New Year well if they are to be up there challenging come the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Weymouth Spo-rts will look to carry on their fine form from the end of 2011 at Okeford United (2pm).

Sports are currently on an unbeaten league run of four games and joint-boss Chris Hicks sees no reason why the momentum cannot continue.

He said: “It is just about picking up from where we left off before the festive period.

“Okeford away is a tricky first game back but as long as we knuckle down straight away and carry on the good things we produced at the end of last year there is no reason why we cannot go there and get a result.”

Jason Thoday and Andy Cleal will both miss the game through suspension but the squad is likely to be boosted by a couple of players coming over from Weymouth Reserves.
