CRAIG Duff has agreed a one-year contract with the Terras to the delight of boss Brendon King.

The all-action midfielder has scored nine goals in 44 appearances since joining the club last September and was arguably one of last season’s biggest success stories. King told Echosport: “Craig hasn’t signed yet but he has agreed to stay and given me his word, which is fantastic news.

“He stepped up three levels when he joined and has done extremely well, and that is why we have rewarded him with a better deal and stuck him on a contract.

“He has all the attributes you need and he is only going to get better.

“He is athletic, powerful, good on the ball, and also chips in with a few goals.

“It will be particularly interesting to see what he is like next year with a full pre-season behind him.”

King, who is still in talks with the board over his future, went on to add: “I have also been speaking to two other players.

“One is a midfielder in the same league as us, who I spoke to on Tuesday, and the other one I am keeping close to my chest.

“So far those talks have been very encouraging and next week I will also be holding meetings with several other players that I want to keep.”
