WEYMOUTH Ladies’ manager Tim Davis has been busy building a new squad for next season’s South West League Premier Division.

Joining the first signing, ex- Southampton and Yeovil star Amy Wild at the club, are seven more players.

First of the seven to put pen to paper was Georgia Rogers who returns to the squad after a season out and has the ability to fill a number of roles.

Skipper and midfield inspiration Rosie Sharpe was next followed by Eloise Adams, one of the best goalkeeper in the league.

Sweeper Zoe Acutt, who was massively improved last season, and midfielder come striker Bianca Randall then agreed to join.

The final two signings were left-sided midfielder and dead-ball expert Bryony Webb and ex-Dorset FA Centre of Excellence centre-back Molly Tighe.

More signings are expected to follow as the club looks to make further progress this season in what will be an incredibly hard league.

It looks like the South West League Premier Division will be expanded by two clubs making a long, hard 22-game season with the additional burden of FA Cup and County Cup fixtures, so a strong squad is required to compete at this level.

Ideally, Weymouth will look to run with around 20 players registered to the first team and the club will soon be scouring all across the county and further afield for players that fancy the challenge of stepping up and playing at this level.
