SAM Goodhew was the star of the show as St George’s marched into the last eight of the Dorchester Evening League Knockout Cup.

The Saints’ leading light top-scored with 22 as his side posted 101-5 before helping himself to six wickets, for the concession of a mere 10 runs, as opponents Hazelbury Bryan were skittled for 94.

The win means St George’s will face lower-league Puddletown Reserves in the quarter-finals.

Also making it through were Martinstown, courtesy of a comprehensive win over Frampton.

The latter were dismissed for a paltry 42, thanks in part to the accuracy of Danny Way (4-16), before opener Lee House (19 not out) helped guide the Division One leaders to victory with 10 wickets to spare.

Matt Barrett and Adam Barrett led the way as Puddletown Reserves secured back-to-back wins in Division Three.

Matt finished unbeaten on 24 not out and Adam (5-9) bagged a fifer as their side (63-4) overcame Puddletown RFC (61 all out), with Matt again top scoring with 41 and Adam (3-16) once more the pick of the attack as the reserves (106-4) saw off the challenge of previously unbeaten Churches United (83 all out).
