MICHAEL Pearce has expressed his disappointment after being forced to scratch last Saturday’s encounter at Christchurch.

The Weymouth Seconds skipper was inundated with injuries and unavailabilities ahead of the Dorset League Division Two clash but has described the postponement as “unacceptable”.

The Seasiders have reduced their ranks from three teams to two this season so this latest development is clearly a major cause for concern.

Pearce said: “I had to scratch the game due to unavailability and injuries but clearly this is unacceptable for a club of our stature and the committee will be meeting in due course to try and look at ways of improving things.”

Pearce’s men are currently winless and bottom of their division on minus eight points, which is in sharp contrast to the first team, who currently lie fifth in the Dorset Premier League following last Satur-day’s victory over rivals Dorchester.

The Seasiders’ second-string will now look to draw inspiration from that derby win ahead of this Saturday’s clash against their county town counterparts at Redlands.

Dorchester Seconds currently sit seventh in Division Two following just one win from four outings with their other three games having fallen to the weather.
