JAKE Richmond remains unfazed by Hamworthy Recreation’s 13-goal haul at Tintinhull last weekend.

The Magna Dorset Premier League heavyweights ran riot in Somerset six days ago but the Terras’ joint-boss, whose side host Rec tomorrow (3pm), insists there will be no repeat at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

He said: “They might have scored 13 goals against Tintinhull but they won’t do it against us.

“We lost 2-1 at their place last season and we were very unlucky. They also beat us 2-0 at ours and that too was a very close game, so they know we will give it a good go.

“Hamworthy will be up there near the end of the season but it’s just another game for us. I don’t care who we play, as long as we put in a decent performance we will be okay.

“We will give it a good crack but the result is irrelevant, we just want to get back to performing well. We also want a 90-minute performance, instead of an hour here and half-an-hour there.”

One man who has made an immediate impact in the reserves is young forward Marcel Akakpo, with Richmond adding: “He is only 18 but he is very strong and he got a standing ovation when he came off last Saturday.

“He can overcomplicate things at time but he has definitely got promise and those are the players we want at the club.”

On the subject of team news, the reserve-team chief said: “Charlie Holland is out for a month with a slight muscle tear but Eddy Mitchell is back and hopefully Matt Head will be as well.”

Steve Crabb and Mark Lock will be hoping to sign off with a win as they take charge of Bridport Reserves for the last time tomorrow.

After two years at the helm, the duo are handing the reins to coach Robin Townsend so tomorrow’s League Cup clash with Hamworthy United Reserves (2.30pm) will serve as their farewell.

The Bees hold home advantage but the Hammers have made a fine start to the new season with just one defeat from their opening five games.

Portland United and Chickerell United are without fixtures this weekend.
