DORSET 196-7 (46.0 overs) lost to DEVON 199-6 (44.0 overs) by four wickets
DORSET suffered their third successive defeat as they were edged out of a tight encounter with Devon in the Unicorns Knockout Trophy today.
After the start of the encounter was delayed at Dean Park due to the weather, both sides’ innings were reduced to 46 overs.
Dorset won the toss and decided to make use of the wicket first, and openers Jake Lintott and Masoor Khan provided a solid platform for the hosts with 65 coming from the first 17 overs, before Lintott was dismissed for 32.
Khan continued his good form, reaching 71 and top scoring for the home side, before he was trapped LBW off the bowling of Devon’s Matt Golding as Dorset posted 196-7.
Spin then played a big part once again in the hosts' attack as Tom Hicks and Sam Thomson both made inroads into the Devon order, leaving the away side needing 41 to win from six overs.
And despite Lintott claiming the wicket of Matt Thompson (55), England under-19 international Ben Green saw his side over the line with an unbeaten 48.
