DORSET have it all to do on the final day to overturn free-scoring Wiltshire’s 383-run lead in their Unicorns Championship opener at Dean Park.

Having established an advantage of 145 by the end of the first innings, the visitors declared on 258-6 and put Chris Park’s men in to bat.

Dorset made a bright start with ball but Michael Reynolds (86) and Ed Young (144) were in irresistible form and found the boundary no fewer than 30 times between them.

Jake Lintott (3-89) eventually saw off both but despite further help from Mark Wolstenholme (3-58), the damage was already done as Wiltshire posted a strong 357.

In response, Dorset got off to the worst possible start as opener Masoor Khan went for a first-ball duck and Ryan Scott quickly followed for one with the score at 5-2.

Michael Porter (36), Luke Webb (49) and Lintott (41) added respectability to the scoreboard, while skipper Park fired an unbeaten 28 but Dorset could only manage 212.

Uzair Qureshi (63) and the imperious Young (55) then took the game away from Dorset with Sam Thomson (3-114) unable to stem the tide.

Openers Khan and Porter kicked off with 20 runs before play was stopped.
