DESPITE losing six wickets in the last hour of play, Dorset managed to hang on for a draw in a thrilling finish to their Unicorns Championship clash with Shropshire.

Chasing 215 to win at Dean Park, the home side went from 85-0 to 184-8, with James Ralph taking 5-55 for the visitors.

Dorset added four more runs to their total before play was brought to a close in the Western Division clash.

Earlier, Shropshire had been bowled out for 295 for the second time in the match, Ralph top scoring on 71.

Jake Lintott was the pick of the hosts’ bowlers with figures of 4-56.

And, as they went in search of a first win of the season, Dorset made a good start in pursuit of the 215 they required.

Masoor Khan (45) and Curtis Blakemore (41) took the score to 85 before wickets began tumbling.

A breezy 35 from Lintott stemmed the flow of dismissals and Dorset did just enough to prevent a Shropshire victory.
