SKIPPER Chris Park revealed that Lewis McManus is set to miss out of Dorset’s MCCA Knockout Trophy clash at Oxfordshire on Sunday (11am).

The Hampshire professional, who has two Minor Counties hundreds in his last two outings for Dorset, is set to take a rest with a busy schedule coming up next week.

Speaking about McManus’ omission from the squad, Park told Echosport: “Unfortunately Lewis has dropped out.

“He was thumbs up to play but, unfortunately, because of his cricket the following week he has been told to have one day off over the weekend to have a rest.”

While McManus will not feature, Ryan Scott is set to return from injury for Dorset and Mike Porter is now available against an Oxfordshire side that have lost two from two so far.

Dorset, who need one win from their final two Group One games to qualify for the next stage, are expected to take a squad of 12 and name their XI on the morning of the game.

Park added: “What better time is it now for the rest of the side to stand up and get a score?

“We need to win one of the next two games and, hopefully, we can do that this weekend.

“To guarantee ourselves a home quarter-final we may need to win all four games, so we are looking to do that.

“I don’t look at the records too much because I know what good players Oxfordshire have got.

“We won’t be taking them lightly at all but we will turn up with some confidence behind us and look at putting out game plan into practice.”
