DORSET made it two wins from two as they secured a seven-wicket victory over Herefordshire on the final day of their MCCA Championship clash.

After taking the visitor's final wicket early in the morning session, the hosts needed just 139 for victory.

Masoor Khan (62) put his side in a superb position before a few late wickets fell as Dorset closed in on the total.

But it was too little too late for the away side as Michael Porter hit the winning runs for the victory.

Earlier in the day, Tom Barber (4-40) cleaned up the final wicket of Herefordshire's innings, Luke Webb taking the catch to dismiss Alex Wilkinson for an eight-ball duck.

Chasing a modest total, and with almost 90 overs at their disposal, Khan and Tom Arnold took a cautious approach to the chase, scoring just eight runs from the first 11 overs.

But they soon found their rhythmn, picking up the pace and putting on 62 for the first wicket. Arnold (33) falling to the bowling of Mohammed Pardesi after Dave Exall had taken the catch.

Khan continued to chip away at the total, however, he could not see it through as he fell to Pardesi with Dorset needing 22 for the win.

But Luke Webb (23), Michael Porter (11no) and 16-year-old debutant Max Trueman (3no) saw their side home for an impressive victory.

Dorset will now turn their attention to their MCCA Knockout Trophy semi-final against Staffordshire at Chapel Gate (11am).
