DORCHESTER Cricket Club have announced several exciting dates for the diary throughout April and May.

Tuesday April 11 sees the first 'senior' outdoor net session at The Rec with the head coach. Under 15s are also welcome to attend as there will be plenty of cricket available to them this year, including evening league, TT25 on Sunday's and indeed the Saturday teams.

The bowling machine will be available for those who want to get their eye in along with the three bay net and will continue every Tuesday throughout the summer.

The club will be holding the 'Junior Registration Night' from 6pm on Thursday April 13.

There will be an overview presentation by Level 3 Head coach Sean Fitzgerald followed by a question & answer session assisted by Chairman, Mark Derrien.

All junior members and families are very welcome to come along and register for the season and there will also be a buffet provided.

Sean will also talk about a Dorchester Cricket Club Academy for our junior members which will commence after the season finishes. This will be great opportunity for all our junior members to benefit from the excellent facilities we have and the highest level of coaching available in the area.

Wednesday 19th April is the day for the first 'Youth' session of the summer with the head coach and his team. All age groups Under-9s, Under-11s, Under-13s & Under15s will be training on Wednesdays throughout the summer commencing at 6pm.

A new girls’ team will also be training on this night also commencing at 6pm.

'All Stars Cricket!' for five to eight year olds kicks off for a eight week programme on Saturday mornings starting at 10am on Saturday May 20.

Each child needs to register online on the ECB All Stars website and type in Dorchester in the tool bar.

Over 20 children have already signed up to this and will receive a bat, ball, water bottle, backpack and personalised shirt as part of the package.

Once the course finishes we will continue throughout the summer at a cost of £1 per child per session.

n Dorchester Cricket Club have also confirmed that the patio has now been completed at the front of the pavilion and the tables will be in position for the parents and spectators in time for the season. Refreshments will be available for all in the clubhouse throughout the summer.

The club will be taking over the running of the pavilion this year, so anyone looking to make a booking should contact booktherec@gmail.com.
