BRENDON King is hopeful that Mark Ford will be fit to face Frome Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Weymouth forward suffered a hand injury in Tuesday night’s defeat against Leamington but the full extent of the damage is still unclear.

The problem first came to light when Ford posted his concern on Twitter. The message read: “Mark Ford is Gutted! Out For Few Weeks #frustrated”

However, King is confident he will be okay.

The Terras’ boss told Echosport: “Someone fell on it the other night.

“He thought it was just bruised but it continued to hurt the following day so he decided to go to hospital for an X-ray.

“It is still sore and a bit swollen but he should be in the squad tomorrow.”

Weymouth will be keen to get back to winning ways this weekend, particularly against a Robins’ side that have taken seven points off them in their last three meetings.

The Terras currently lie seventh in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, four points adrift of the play-offs, while Frome sit fifth-bottom.
