JASON Matthews has been given the Weymouth manager's job on a permanent basis.
The experienced goalkeeper took caretaker charge of the Terras just last month, following the sacking of Brendon King.
Since then the club has picked up seven points from four games with the only defeat coming against Poole Town on Boxing Day.
The decision to hand Matthews the reins permanently was taken at a board meeting this morning.
Club chairman Nigel Biddlecombe told Echosport: "It's official that Jason Matthews has been announced as the new manager of Weymouth FC with no caveats at this time.
"Jason wants the chance and is very excited about the decision, as are the board of directors."
Matthews is expected to address the supporters at a fans forum following next Saturday's home game against Corby Town. The forum will take place at 6.30pm.
