WEYMOUTH manager Jason Matt-hews reflected on his spell as the Terras’ boss to date as his side host Banbury United at the Bob Lucas Stadium this evening (7.45pm).

Matthews’ first game in the hot- seat came away at Banbury back in December where the sides fought out a gritty goalless draw.

Since then, he has been given the green light to lead the Terras next term and believes he has adapted well to his managerial position.

He told Echosport: “I am really enjoying the role, there are some easier and harder aspects but that’s football management.

“It was my first game in charge when I took over up there and we put in a good performance, they have been on a bad run since then so we need to look at ourselves and get a result.

“The squad has changed since then, we are looking to build for next season now and I’d like to be judged 10 games into next season.”

The Terras are set to be without Adam Kelly after he picked up a hamstring injury at the weekend which could rule him out for the rest of the campaign.

And although Banbury have given away more than 100 goals in the league this term, Matthews is still cautious about the threat that the visitors pose.

He added: “They scored six against Biggleswade last week and when we went there, they were looking at the play-offs, but I am more interested with my team.”

Matthews also confirmed that Ben Joyce, will be playing elsewhere next season, and wished the striker all the best.
