STAMPING their authority on proceedings is something that Jason Matthews believes will be crucial for the Terras’ battle at Cirencester Town this evening (7.45pm).

The Centurions, who are still unbeaten at home in the league this term, showed exactly what they are capable of last week when they dismantled Dorchester Town 6-1 at the Corinium stadium and followed it up with an impressive 3-1 win at Cambridge City.

But Weymouth chief Matthews is eager for his charges to stick to their own game plan and express their own abilities in a bid to rock this evening’s hosts.

He told Echosport: “We were disappointed not to win on Saturday but we are looking forward to the Cirencester game.

“We want to keep it tight but, at the same time, I want us to play our game and I don’t want anything to detract from that.

“We have a certain way of playing and we don’t want them to get a foothold in the game. We need to stamp our authority on things and that’s when our plan will come into play.

“They are one of the form teams in the league at the moment and we have to go there and be positive again.”

The Centurions are scoring more than two goals per league game on average, and striker Aiden Bennett bagged himself a hat-trick in the weekend win against the Lilywhites.

Terras’ skipper Stewart Yetton will have fond memories of tonight’s opposition. When the sides met in the FA Cup at Cirencester last season, he notched either side of the interval in a 2-1 win.
