DORCHESTER Town boss Graham Kemp was all too happy to admit that his side “got out of jail” last night, as the Magpies rescued a draw against Bideford in dramatic fashion.

Trailing 3-0 with nearly 90 minutes on the clock, goals from Matt Oldring, Nick Crittenden and Alex Godfrey gave the county town outfit a point against all the odds.

But Kemp was quick to bring a sense of realism to the situation after seeing the Magpies struggle for the majority of the Southern Premier Division clash, particularly in the first half when they conceded three times.

“I was very disappointed,” he said. “Aside from the last few minutes we weren’t at the races and I’m at a loss as to why we can put in such an inept performance after how well we played on Saturday.

“There were no whoops and cheers in the dressing room after, they all know what an inept performance they put in, and we got out of jail really. I used up one of my nine lives.

“I’ve never been involved in a game where a side has scored three goals that late on, and if we’d played another two minutes we might have gone on and won it.

“But it papered over the cracks. We looked a bit tired, a bit jaded, and devoid of ideas.”
