FAMOUS OLD SPA 8 JUNCTION TROJANS 0
CLINICAL Chris Skinner made it back-to-back double hat-tricks after netting six of the Old Spa’s eight goals against Junction Trojans.
The Famous Old Spa, strengthened by the return of captain Luke Hearn, Matt Harvey, Mark Duffy and Jamie Russell, carried on where they left off last week, netting four unanswered goals in the first half.
Three of those goals came from in-form striker Skinner, although the goal of the game was taken by Dave Sowerby after a great spell of one-touch passing between Skinner, Ash Hine and Karl Dean with Sowerby on hand to put away his first goal of the season.
In the second half, the Spa did not let up. They created numerous chances meaning Skinner added to his tally three more times. Dean also tucked home his third of the season to complete the scoring.
Elsewhere in the division, champions Kings Arms, unbeaten in the league last term, suffered a shock 4-3 defeat to Snookes at Redlands.
On target for the Kings were Danny Andrews, Dean Williams and Izzy Stewart but they were powerless to stop Snookes, who now top the pile with three wins out of three.
Along with Trojans, the Alex are also yet to get off the mark this season and sit bottom of the table after their 3-2 loss to Dolphin with the victors’ goals coming through Adam Anstey (2) and Chucky Taylor.
There were also high-scoring draws between Broadmayne and Market House who shared eight goals between them. Finns and The Gloucester drew 3-3.
