PORTLAND United boss Gary Bailey hopes to see a strong island squad take to the field tomorrow (7.45pm) as his side get set to take on Andover New Street in the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup at Foxcotte Park.

The Blues have been hit by injuries in recent weeks and it has been a contributing factor in their four-game winless run.

But now Bailey is looking to bring a couple of those faces back into the fold.

He told Echosport: “Hopefully Alex Halloran (sickness) will be fit.

"There is an outside chance for Ross Doidge, but I don’t want to risk him with a hamstring injury.

“Ed Bastick and Ryan McKechnie are unavailable.”

Portland made it all the way to the semi-finals in last year’s competition where they were knocked out by Team Solent after extra time.
