Must-win game for Upwey
8:42am Friday 30th March 2012 in Football By Adam Summers
MISSING: Adam Billings
Upwey & Broadway boss Steve Reynolds is expecting a tough task tomorrow when his men host in-form Piddletrenthide United at Redlands in the Dorset Senior League (3pm).
The Weymouth outfit need to win their last four games to stand any chance of claiming the title, which continues to remain a five-horse race with Wareham Rangers, Portland United Reserves, Kingston Lacy and Witchampton United also firmly in the running.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash, Reynolds said: “Piddletrenthide are on a bit of a roll at the moment.
“They have won their last four on the spin and last weekend they beat Wareham 3-2.
“They have clearly improved somewhat but we beat them earlier in the season and hopefully we can do the same again tomorrow.
“If we start from where we left off against Okeford United in our last game then all should be well and good.
“Charlie Kenderdine and Adam Billings are both unavailable, which is a bit of a blow, but everyone else is okay, so there is no reason why we cannot get the win we are desperately after.”
Upwey currently lie third in the table, six points adrift of Wareham with a game in hand, but with Portland, Lacy and the Witches also in close attendance, Reynolds is under no illusions about what it is going to take to finish top of the pile.
He added: “It is a crazy league this year. To have five teams all still in with a shot at the title going into the last four or five games, is just incredible.
“We still have to play Portland and Witchampton yet, and I know others at the top have got to meet to, so it promises to be a really interesting finish.
“Those games will be crucial and as I have said the last couple of weeks, all we can do is win all ours and then see where it takes us.
“If we do that we will certainly not be far away.”
* Portland United Reserves host Kingston Lacy at Grove Corner tomorrow (3pm), while basement boys Chickerell United Reserves entertain third-bottom Gillingham Town Reserves at the Stalls (3pm).

It's a crazy league as all the teams are so poor! The standard really is dire.
