DORCHESTER Town’s youth teams were the big winners as they hosted the club’s Youth Tournament at the Avenue Stadium.
The six-a-side event saw Maiden Newton, Bridport and Wimborne & Holt come out victorious on Saturday morning in the Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10 tournaments respectively, with Dorchester Magpies finishing runners-up in the younger age group.
But the Magpies dominated the afternoon session, with Dorchester Panthers winning the Under-11s and 12s, and Dorchester Magpies taking the Under-13s’ crown.
It was a similar story of domination on the Sunday, as Dorchester Town took the Under-15s’ crown, edging out rival Dorchester Stars in the final.
Dorchester United also came out victorious in the walking football, beating Dexter FC.
Elsewhere, Harpenden Colts won the Under-14s category, beating Highworth FC.
The afternoon session saw the Ability Counts section, which was won by Poole on a competitive afternoon.
