BALTI Sports manager Marco Nott is looking to get a win over Westland Sports after suffering two losses to the first team, and one loss to their reserves, so far this season as the two sides meet today in the Dorset Premier League (3pm).

The defeats came in the form of a 3-1 loss in the Dorset Premier League Cup semi-final in March and a 4-1 loss in the league back in November as well as a 3-1 loss to their reserve side in the Dorset Senior Trophy.

Nott said: “They have certainly got one on us at the moment, they have beaten us three times already this season. They are a very strong side.

“They are certainly one of the stronger sides in the league.

“They are a solid team throughout, they defend well. They are a good threat going forwards.

“We certainly owe them one.”

Balti have not won in the league since September 30, a 5-0 win against Sturminster Newton United.

Nott said: “We have not won for so long now it is becoming very frustrating but hopefully we can get this win soon and finish the season on a little bit of a high.

“It has been a long winter, I have never really known anything like it since I have been in charge of Balti. It has been a real struggle this year, we have been poor and that is hard to take really.

“If we can get that win it will be massive for me and a confidence booster as it would be for the team as well.

“The sooner that comes the better.”

Balti had been scheduled to face Sturminster again on Saturday but this was postponed by the weather, as all teams in the Dorset Premier League have been left with a high fixture pile-up.

Nott said: “We could have got two games out of the way and that is all it is for us, we just want to get the season over and done with and try and recuperate for next season.

“It is very frustrating really, I have never known a season like it with the weather. The fixture pile-up for every team is quite astronomical so it is difficult but every team is in the same boat.”

Sammy Nichols, Ryan Dovell and Josh Houghton are unavailable but Phil Anderson, Scott Walker and Ricky Lane return.
