MATT Groves is calling for more of the same from the Terras tonight as they look to back up Saturday’s defeat of St Neots with another three points against Frome Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium (7.45pm).

The hosts are getting ready to play in front of their own supporters for the first time this season and boss Brendon King is set to keep faith with the same side that started the win at the weekend.

The Terras got their Calor Southern Premier Division campaign off to a bang in Cambridgeshire with early goals from Mark Ford and captain Scott Walker to knock the stuffing out of their opponents.

Some may have been surprised by the relative comfort with which King’s men saw off St Neots given the current injury problems – but not Groves.

“The only thing I was surprised about was how quickly we scored our goals,” he said. “But I wasn’t surprised with how we played.

“We have got people out with injuries but we’ve also got the players to cover those positions and the likes of Ben Joyce had no problem moving back into the midfield.

“He was comfortable when we played him there in the friendly at Gosport and was the same on Saturday.

“Ben did a really good job for us and everyone played well – I think Jason Matthews only had a couple of saves to make.

“It was a great start and we couldn’t have asked for more from the lads.

“It will be exactly the same squad for tonight and the same starting line-up.

“The Frome game is our first of the season at home and we’ll be going out to do what we did on Saturday and pick up another three points.”

The Terras’ defensive display at St Neots pleased Groves more than anything else with summer signing Nathan Walker shining in the absence of his brother Michael.

Groves also confirmed yesterday that Aidan Chainey, an unused substitute on Saturday, has joined the club on a non-contract basis.

“Aidan has signed non-contract forms and is on board with us now,” added Groves.

“He is taking things week by week and we’ll see how it goes.”

As for Weymouth’s injured players, Michael Walker is expected to return to light training at the end of the month following his hernia operation, while Jamie Symes (groin) is set for four to six weeks on the sidelines.

Keeper Simon Evans is still waiting to hear when his knee operation is and Kyle Critchell is recovering from a back problem.
