IRELAND’S Hieko Dreier leads the way after the first day of competition at the EFSA European Boat Championships in Weymouth.
The three-time former European champion heads the men’s individual standings with England’s Colin Searles in second and Bill Murray of Scotland third.
In the international team event, England A top the table with 386 points, leading Italy A by nine, while Scotland A are six points further back on 371.
Neil Bryant and Ray Barron (both England) hold a slender one-point advantage (200-199) over Englishman Perry Dack and German Marcus Wuest in the open two-man team category.
Meanwhile, reigning champion Katharina Schlief of Germany is the leader in the ladies’ competition at the end of day one.
