BOSS Mark Jermyn voiced his frustration at Dorchester Town's defending of set-pieces following their 4-3 defeat at Cirencester last night.

Two of the hosts' goals came courtesy of headers from corners, while the foul that led to the winning penalty resulted from another dead-ball situation.

Jonah Ayunga, Tony Lee and Matt Oldring did get on the scoresheet for the Magpies but their strikes were ultimately in vain.

"It's very frustrating because I thought we were the better team," said Jermyn.

"I was very disappointed we didn't get something out of the game.

"They had pretty much one tactic which was to kick the ball as high and as far as possible and then chase it.

"However, I was disappointed with the way we defended set-pieces.

"We spoke before the game about not giving away corners and free-kicks in dangerous position yet for some reason we did that in abundance."

He went on to add: "We had a lot of chances and could have put the game out of sight.

"But we're not going to dwell on the result because I didn't think the performance was bad at all.

"We just need to refocus now and go again on Saturday, but just make sure we defend better."

Jermyn was pleased to see Ayunga and Lee find the net again at Cirencester following their goals against Histon on Saturday, while he also praised Ben Watson for his display last night.
