DORCHESTER’S poor start to the season continued against Cinderford Town as two strikes from Gethyn Hill as well as goals from Zack Kotwica and Kendall Chambers saw the Magpies defeated 4-0 at the Causeway.

Kotwica’s vicious strike in the opening 15 minutes gave the Foresters the lead before Hill scored twice in a minute to settle the game.

Chambers added a fourth in stoppage time to compound the misery for the away side.

The Magpies went into the game without Mark Jermyn, Nathan Walker and Ben Wood, who were all unavailable, and had to rely on their squad to replace them.

Without three of their regular centre-backs – including Chris Dillon, who has a groin strain – Matt Oldring filled in alongside Jake Smeeton.

The home side started the brighter after the game was delayed by 15 minutes as the away side were caught in traffic. Chambers put one over the bar from 20 yards.

Dorchester were pressing well in the opening exchanges, but fell behind in the 14th minute.

After good work from Blaine Waugh to find Zack Kotwica who hammered home to take the lead for the hosts.

The visitors responded well as Smeeton went close from a Neil Martin corner.

As the first half wore on, the Magpies controlled possession but struggled to find a killer pass.

David Jerrard had the best chance for the county town side but his effort curled just past the post.

Hill was providing a threat up front for Cinderford but when gifted an opportunity by Murphy, he couldn’t find the target as the half came to an end.

The Magpies came out fast after the break, Mario Mateus fired over from close range in their best spell of the clash.

But, they were dealt a decisive blow in the 67th minute as the Foresters doubled their lead. Hill slotted home after Murphy had saved Jacob Morgan’s original shot.

He then made it three a minute later with his second of the game. After a defensive mix-up, Hill broke forward and calmly finished with aplomb.

The Magpies made all of their changes and changed their formation to try and find a way back into the game, but they were unable to mount any sort of comeback as they lost their second league game in three days.

Chambers made it four in stoppage time from Hill’s cross on a night to forget for the county town side.

They face Chesham United on Saturday, looking to get their season back on track.
