PAULTON Rovers might still be searching for their first league win of the season but Dorchester Town chief Mark Jermyn knows that will count for little when the sides clash at the Avenue tonight (7.45pm).

The Robins, whose management team of Richard Fey and Nathan Rudge resigned last week, are currently propping up the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division with six points from a possible 45.

And while a game against the team bottom of the pile gives Jermyn and his players hope of ending their own poor run of form, the county town player-manager knows it will be a tough test.

“By no means are we at panic stations, and we’ve got a good game to bounce back with,” said the Magpies boss, who saw his side lose for the fourth time in a row in the league at Redditch.

“Having said that, they drew with Leamington on Saturday and that would have given them a real lift. So as much as we are looking forward to getting back on it, we do have to respect Paulton and that result at the weekend.

“Our staff and players work extremely hard so it’s a case of digging in and keep believing in ourselves. We just need to steady the ship and then start moving forward again.

“You have to respect everybody in this league and we won’t be getting ahead of ourselves against Paulton.”

Dorchester’s reserves, who lost 3-2 to Alresford Town in the Wyvern Challenge Cup last time out, go to Moneyfields in the league tomorrow night (7.45pm).
