MAGPIES’ boss Mark Jermyn was keen to praise his team’s all-round display in their 6-0 hammering of struggling Paulton Rovers last night, with special mentions for hat-trick hero Ben Watson and the tireless Bradley Tarbuck.

Watson’s treble and goals for Tarbuck, Charlie Davis and Jonah Ayunga brought an end to Dorchester’s worst run of results since Jermyn’s tenure as player-manager at the Avenue began in January.

“It was good to get that emphatic win to give everybody a lift, and it was nice to keep a clean sheet as well,” Jermyn told Echosport.

“I was pleased it was a good all-round performance, not just certain players, but it’s important not to get too carried away with it.

“We’ll take the positives out of the game and move on to the next one.”

On Watson and Tarbuck, he added: “It’s nice to know that Ben has still got goals in him.

“He has been working fantastically throughout the season and has done a tremendous job for us.

“Given the goals, he was one of the standout performers, but I also think the defence did really well.

“Bradley was tremendous as well and worked his socks off right until the final whistle.

“The energy levels were there from all the lads and I’m really pleased for them, it really was a team performance.”

Last night’s win pushed Dorchester back up to seventh in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, three points off the play-off places.
