BOSS Mark Jermyn had no qualms with his side’s performance in defeat to Dunstable on Saturday, while he was adamant the Magpies were the better of the two teams.

The Dorchester player-manager said the visitors did everything but score at Creasey Park as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss against their promotion rivals.

“It was disappointing but not because we didn’t play well,” he told Echosport. “I thought we did play well, it was just frustrating we couldn’t get the ball in the net.

“We hit the post twice, we hit the bar, and their keeper made multiple saves, while they scored a goal which was a cross to the far post.

“I’m not annoyed with my players because we were the better side.

“You hear that from managers, sometimes it’s true and other times it’s not, but it was the case on Saturday.

“We are playing well at the moment but unfortunately the result went against us.”

He added: “Fair play to Dunstable, they are up there in the league, but we’ve played stronger teams in a lower position this season.

“There is no bitterness, just a little bit of frustration.”

Dorchester’s players will train tonight and Thursday before they entertain Chesham United at the Avenue on Saturday.

The Magpies are four points off the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division play-off places.
