MANAGER Steve Thompson was left ruing missed chances despite Dorchester getting a 1-1 draw at Basingstoke.

The Magpies initially fell behind in the 25th minute to a Ross Carmichael own goal.

The second half was a different story as Dorchester grew into the match.

Shortly after David Jerrard was substituted on he supplied the assist to Aaron Rodriguez to make it 1-1.

After the equaliser Dorchester maintained the good momentum. Manager Steve Thompson explained: “We had three or four really great chances after the equaliser.”

Thompson cleared him of any blame as he explained: “The clearance smashed against him. He was in no way to blame.”

“I thought we probably deserved a win, we dominated the second half.”

The draw left the Magpies 20th in the table and they next face Basingstoke again at home in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The match also saw defender Mohammed Baghdadi in the starting XI who has signed on loan from Bristol Rovers. Another defender Gabby Adelowo also signed before the match on Tuesday and made the bench, as Thompson explained they felt they were short in that department.
