LAND Registry and Wyke A secured almost identical results this week as they continue to lead the way in Division One.

In Division Two, it was Bud-mouth B who fractionally edged Budmouth C with both teams claiming victories. With it fast becoming a two-horse race, their showdown is already looking like a league decider.

Wyke D and All Saints are out in front in Division Three after they also both recorded wins.

Wyke A began proceedings with an impressive 28-12 win over the youngsters of Budmouth A. Sai Maganti, Mike Doyle and Shaun Beauchamp won the first four legs for Wyke and, despite signs of a potential fightback, they narrowly won the remainder of their legs to get the all important win.

Similarly, Land Registry dropped one set less to record a 28-11 victory over Colliton X.

Registry battled from a set down to record a comfortable win des-pite Neil Hardisty losing to Mick Hogan in the opening round.

Red Triangle won their second match of the season with a closely fought win over Shipton Gorge A. The first nine sets meant that Gil Roberts and Miranda Edwardes needed to overhaul an 18-20 deficit in order to claim victory. Despite getting early points on the board, it was Andy Mitchell and Tony Reed who sealed a 20-23 victory for Triangle.

In Division Two, Budmouth B beat Preston B 27-12 to maintain their form. An impressive display by Josh Harman meant he was the only member of the team to take legs off the opposition, but it was not enough in the end.

Jamie Blair, Moses Lewis and James Green ran out comfortable winners as Budmouth C won all 10 legs against Colliton C.

Preston A and Springfield play-ed what turned out to be a mar-athon of a match. It could have easily swung either way but Springfield came out top with Mike Page and Steve Rook both gaining maximum legs to round off a 27-16 victory.

In the Division Three clash, Wyke D beat Dorset Youth B in a successful night for the club. Ian South and Tony Dobbs were at the centre of attention as they shared both individual and doubles successes to all but seal the deal.

All Saints almost endured a shock when Roy Sharp of Wyke C beat the Dadd brothers and Hector Knight. His efforts however were all but meaningless when the youth of Wyke proved too much for their opposition.

Shipton Gorge C won 30-1, sealing their second full house of the week, while in a pulsating encounter to top off the evening, Pilgrims B edged out Preston D 22-17.

The star of the evening was Barry Thomas of Pilgrims who won all three of his legs. Preston D went into the final doubles round needing to win three sets to none, but it was Thomas and Alec Bailey of Pilgrims who came come out on top, winning 3-0.
