HARRY Fry continued his strong start to the 2015 Cheltenham Festival with another third-place finish by virtue of Activial today.

The hurdler went off favourite in the ultra-competitive Coral Cup, improved throughout, and came within a neck of overcoming the duelling Zabana and eventual winner Aux Ptits Soins at the crest of the steep finishing straight.

The Seaborough handler will aim to continue his success tomorrow in the Pertemps Final (2.05pm) with Henryville, while Mosterton’s Anthony Honeyball saddles the JP McManus owned Regal Encore, who took him to within a few strides of festival glory in 2013.

On the chances of Regal Encore, Honeyball told Echosport: “There is no reason why he shouldn’t run well here again, we finally got back on track with him at Exeter last month.”

Sherborne trainer Colin Tizzard also sends out two runners in the amateur riders’ race tomorrow.

Speaking about Grand Vision’s chances in particular, Joe Tizzard said: “He’s been crying out for this trip all season, we thought we would have won a novice chase by now. The four miles will suit him. He’s run well around here in the past and he’s better than what he’s shown this year.”

The Tizzards also saddle Kings Lad in the Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate (4pm) while Third Intention will take his place in the Ryanair Chase (2.40pm).
