A TEAM of Dorchester dressage riders have qualified for the Team Quest National finals after they finished third in the competition’s regionals.
The quartet of Ruth Waters, Charlotte Hill, Natalie Webb and Helen Gilbert, riding under the name Reining Chaos, will now head to Bury Farm near Aylesbury on November 14-15 for the prestige event, and, in a double celebration, they have secured a sponsorship deal with national company IMS MAXIMs.
The competition was a dressage event for teams, the dress code is relaxed and it is aimed at getting more riders involved with the sport.
Since dressage came into the spotlight after the fantastic performances by Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro at the Olympics this competition has provided a great opportunity to compete at regional level for ordinary riders.
There are 45 teams in the region with the top 15 battling to qualify for the regionals since March.
Another Dorset team, It’s All About The Bling, consisting of Jackie Warren-George, Caroline Thrower, Annie Frampton-Hobbs and Moira Bonner, just missed out on the finals after finishing fifth.
