SENIOR schools from around the area were invited by Weymouth Swimming Club to compete for the Percy Sampson Schools 4x50m freestyle trophy.
This always proves to be an exciting start to the swimming club’s annual individual medley Trophy Gala.
Last year’s winners, Budmouth College, returned to defend their title and were successful in their attempt. They beat teams from Wey Valley and All Saints.
Weymouth Swimming Club competitors then got down to the main business of the evening, challenging for the array of trophies awarded to first place in all age groups in the individual medley.
The overall fastest male club member, competing for the Dennis Fairchild Trophy, was Aidan Turner.
His brother Nial Turner came a close second and third was Daniel Kingman.
The Pauline Fairchild Trophy for the fastest overall female in the championship was taken by Alice Adams.
Alasara James came in second and Danielle Brunell was third.
