DYLAN Fletcher and Alain Sign are looking for a strong second half to their regatta after admitting they have a “few little things to tweak” if they are going to up their medal charge in Rio.

The 49ers had an exhausting day on the Aeroporto course inside Guanabara Bay, with four back-to-back races bringing them up to the midway point of their 12-race opening series before a well-earned rest day.

The Brits got off to a solid start in the day’s opening race, coming home in seventh, but they struggled to repeat that in the next two races, finishing 20th and 15th, before holding their nerve to recover brilliantly with a fourth in the day’s last race.

The four-time World Champions, Peter Burling and Blair Tuke (NZL), continued their dominance at the front of the fleet, already eking out a 18 point lead over third-placed Jonas Warrer (Beijing 2008 49er champion) and Christian Pete Lubeck (DEN).

Fletcher, who lives in Weymouth, and Sign know if they are to get in amongst the medal hopes in the business end of the regatta, they need to pick up from where they left off from today’s fourth race when they resume their event, with three scheduled races on Monday.
