STURMINSTER Newton-based William Fox-Pitt finished ninth and 16th on his respective charges at the Tattersalls International Horse Trials, in Ireland.
The five-time Olympian, secured the highest of his two placings at the three-day event on Oratorio, in an effort which included a clear round inside the time in the show jumping discipline.
That earned him a final score of 47.60 on his first mount, giving Fox-Pitt a place inside the top-10.
Also riding Little Fire, the Dorset star put in a steady display to finish 16th overall with a total of 52.60.
The overall winner of the event was New Zealand’s Tim Price on board Kincooley Cruising, the duo topping the pile with a score of 38.30 ahead of Italy’s Vittoria Panizzon in second (42.00).
