MICHAEL Watson (Wessex Golf Centre) continued his recent run of successes by winning the Truro Pro-Am with a two-over-par 69 at Truro in vile conditions of persistent rain.
He shared with former Somerset county amateur Louis Boston (Stockwood Vale) and Ashley Mansell (Clevedon).
All players made more bogeys or doubles on a day of high scoring in the unsavoury conditions, despite the greens being in excellent condition.
Watson was the day’s most consistent player, dropping shots at the fifth, sixth and 15th before his solitary birdie on the last.
Mansell, winner of the previous event at Remedy Oak, bogeyed the fifth and 13th with one birdie on the sixth. Jon Bevan (Sherborne) was fourth one shot further back.
All players made more bogeys or doubles on a day of high scoring in the unsavoury conditions, despite the greens being in excellent condition.
This was the highest scoring for seven years in the annual Pro-Am that concludes a week-long festival.
More than 200 members celebrated the final day at the presentations.
